I got nominated for Rangefinders 30 Rising Stars for the second year, and didn’t make it. And that’s okay! I get satisfaction in knowing I have happy clients who love their photos (hopefully I’m a star in their eyes, hahaha), and that I walk away from each wedding with work I’m proud of. But I thought I’d share with you my submission for this year. <3 I have found myself growing more than I ever felt possible in the last year as I expound on my ‘why’. It’s less about the types of weddings I shoot, and more about ‘who’ I shoot. It’s who will let me in. The families that invite me into their own. The couples who open up. Within these parameters is when I create photos that make my heart flutter.
In this set of photos I wanted to emphasize stillness amongst what is inevitably utter chaos on a wedding day. I like quiet photos. These are the ones that caught my eye, I hope they catch yours too.
Thank you to the photographers that nominated me this year, forever grateful!
Enjoy.
Amazing job! These photographs make me feel so much- you have a beautiful eye for the simple moments and while you didn’t make the top 30- you should feel so proud that this is what you have created for someone else. These photos will be cherished forever.
